About Lewes
The town of Lewes was founded in 1631 and is situated where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean at Cape Henlopen. The historic district offers museums, waterfront dining, Bed and Breakfast Inns and excellent shopping. There are opportunities for art classes, boating and biking on the many trails in the area. The Lewes area expands from east of Coastal Highway to the west toward Millsboro and north to Harbeson. There are many new communities, some mobile home parks and newly built apartment buildings in the area.
